The Objectives of the Code are
- To promote better relations between customers and insurers and improve consumer confidence in the insurance industry.
- To help resolve any complaints and disputes between insurers and their customers.
To commit insurers and their partners to a higher standard of customer service.
The Federal Government, insurance companies, consumer groups and the Insurance Council of Australia all support the General Insurance Code of Practice.
